Polar Kitty

When I first spotted this poster on the end of a bus shelter I thought the kitty was floating on a cloud and had gone to heaven and then realized that he/she is on a hunk of ice floating in the Arctic like a polar bear. I guess the City of Toronto Animal services is trying to remind us about the cat overpopulation problem which doesn't get as much attention as the bears losing their habitat! I was dealing with shadows, reflections, and a wrinkled poster but couldn't resist this shot of a rather bizarre ad!

Not sure how effective it will be. at first, I thought it was a movie poster!

This is a very smart add, with a strong image... I hope it will help raise awareness of the problem.
Very good sign RedPat! ;-)

I love it. I want to run right out to the SPCA to adopt an orange tabby cat.

It does take a little time for the image to sink in. I though it was a cloud at first too.

She does look like she's in kitty heaven! hehe. I think my Noel would like it there. :)
Have a nice evening RedPat!

Hmmm. Interesting poster. I think it really is a problem that we tend to help animals and people in far-away places and don't see the problems right before our eyes.

Definitely a bizarre ad! I think it would get attention because people would be curious what the visual means and read the message!

The ad has a clever twist to it. I wonder if it has make an impression on anyone.

I'm with LĂșcia. I think it's a very clever, effective ad, Pat.

I think it's an interesting ad because it made you look twice at it, right?

I can't decide if I think it is effective or not. It makes one think, and I don't know if our populace is armed for thinking when it comes to ads.

Thanks for visiting HDP today and other days. I enjoy reading your comments, as I enjoy seeing what you will show me about Toronto.

Very creative! I would adopt another one but my two are a handful now. Although my youngest needs a little sister to torment her. ha ha.

it's a great idea---a kitty o a chunk of ice. i'm sure this gets the message across.

She does look like she's floating on a cloud. Not sure it will reduce the cat populatin though

It certainly would make you look twice that ad. I think cat overpopulation must be a problem everywhere Red, it definitely is here!

I can see why this sign would be confusing. Probably is not helping to bring more attention to the problem either as it's not easily understandable!

Strange sign! Don't know if it would work if that's the purpose of it....the kitty looks so forlorn -- I feel sorry for it.

I didn't know about the cat overpopulation problem, but it's a great reminder of the poor polar bears loosing their iced habitat.
