Although part of Little Portugal, Ossington Ave has a bit of a Cuban flavor and even has a cigar factory and so from August 18 -21 the "Havana Cultura Toronto" had various events along the strip. During the event this Cuban-inspired mural was painted towards the back wall of yesterday's Levack Block building. The artist is Angel Carrillo who is known for several commissioned murals around town. I am not sure if it is to be permanent or will be painted over for some future mural.

There are so many things to see in this mural, but even before enlarge it I could see Che, I wouldn't imagine one day I would see him in a mural in Toronto!
In the past I used to like the idea of permanent murals, now I think they should be changed some time later, so we can always see new great works. ;-)

I always have so much trouble reading the script on this type of thing - if you hadn't named the picture "culturas" I wouldn't have known.
Love this, so very cuban, and I agree, I love the fact that it is all in black and white. It just really works for some reason.

What a spectacular mural, the details are wonderful!
Crikey! imagine doing all that work and then someone comes and paints it out..I'd be peeved!! I like it too in B&W makes it a bit different.

Doing this in black and white makes it stand out from the usual street mural. I kind of like it, even though my tastes don't run to graffiti styles . . .
