This ghost sign is found on the side of a 1920s building on Richmond St W, the building having been built as a warehouse for Gelber Brothers Wholesale Woollens & Yard Goods. Apparently it has been covered at various times through the years by billboards which may account for its fairly legible state! The building now houses several small businesses as well as a nightclub that has a rooftop patio that we can't see from the ground.

This is a cool sign! i am glad it still survives all the changes on this street.
cool old building :)
Another great ghost sign!
My SIGN
Good find on your part. I keep looking for ghost signs but I haven't found any for awhile.
Nice one. I love those old ghost signs.
Nice sign, like the design of those windows too.
If you are in York next year it might be fun to meet up if you have the time.
You may know how much I love these faded old signs. We find a lot of them in Colorado when we visit out daughter. And I always take photos of them. Nice to know the history, too, as it makes the photo much more meaningful.
Love how the building still moves alongside the times but keeps its original identity! Gorgeous ghost sign!
very cool find!
This sign really IS in good shape considering its age.
I always look for these when I'm in a city. Locally we don't have anything like it, not least reason being that we don't have big brick buildings!
Love it - funny how I see so many more of them now that others are posting them. Nice to have ones eyes open to new things - Fun shot.
I love old painted signs like this. Great looking building.
Nice find, surprisingly faded more at the bottom than at the top.
This is great - I took a photo of this sign a couple of years ago (when the building was undergoing renovations) and I thought it might disappear. Am so glad it looks pretty much the same!
What a wonderful ghost sign. Most of the ones I see are far less legible!
I agree with Deb about those windows - along with the beautiful brick and sign, the windows are striking!
Very cool... I love ghost signs, Seattle has quite a few still.
ghost signs--they're interesting. this building reminds me of a prison.:p
I remember seeing this sign, glad it hasn't been covered over or " fixed"
ghost signs are a part of history
I love the old brick
Going, going... not quite gone!
I think finding these is like buried treasure!
This is a very nice, well preserved one!
Fabulous find Pat. It's certainly held up well over all those years, a bit of billboard protection works wonders!!
Great to see a part of Toronto's history survived.
