Milgrom Ghost Sign

Yet another ghost sign that I found recently on the side of a building on Richmond St West. It reads - "Milgrom Limited Coats & Suits  where quality is created  372 Richmond St".  I could find hardly any info on the company other than the fact it was located here from the mid 60s to the late 70s and it looks as if their sign was painted over another older larger sign.  This building is now occupied by many small companies and studios.

Is the image to the left supposed to be a coat? It looks like a horse to me! You are really great at spotting these ghost signs! They seem to have a lot where you live!

I'm pretty sure the area where you took the photo used to be known as Toronto's garment district.

It makes me think of all the dress, coat, and shoe stores that I grew up around. I used to love to go to all those different shops.

Another nice piece of history. You've inspired me to try to capture the ghost signs in my home town each time we go back for a visit. That's really about all that's left there now.

I like the architecture of this brick building. It's perfect for a ghost sign.

Love these ghost signs! And I'll bet I would like their "coats and suits." Wonder what happened to them?

I love these ghost signs -- and I think more of them should be purposely left -- gives such a great historical feeling to the area...

Wonderful find ! Makes one wonder whether they produce still such quality as this company seems to have provided.

Please have a good Thursday.

Terrific ghost sign.

Not only the sign seems aged and decayed, the name sounds so much history just by pronouncing it.

It shows the history of the city

You are collecting enough of these to have a gallery showing one day - great capture.

You have a good eye for ghost signs. I don't see them around here because I am too familiar with the place . . . I look right through them. The only time I notice them is when I am in new places, but this is not New Place Daily Photo.

The image on the left does look like a horse! There's probably a lot of history behind that building and the ghost signs. What an interesting neighbourhood to visit.

I really love seeing the remains of these old signs. Never heard the term "ghost signs", and I am glad to know that they are "a thing". Enjoyed seeing this one!

Nice looking brick building - looks like it's been cleaned up on the front. I like these "blasts from the past" - keep 'em coming!

I'm glad the new owners left the sign intact, I think these have a lot of character. It looks like the redid the facade.
