This is one of the side doors at University College which is the oldest college at U of Toronto. The whole college building has wonderful carvings all over it and even this small door has columns each of which is unique. And check out those hinges!
Striking how different the capitals on those two columns are! Always enjoyed walking through or past UC and Hart House when I was there, such beautiful old buildings!
They are amazing hinges, and the entire building within the frame and door itself, wow, this would be fun to own as well. Imagine that, I sure could, an entry to my own castle! Hehehe!

The decorative detail at so many of the buildings on that campus are beautiful. This is a really good example of that!

That door is fabulous and those hinges are fantastic.
It certainly looks like a door from days of old.
Wow, it looks fantastic... I'm picturing a black night with a thunderstorm!

Great looking neo-classic door. Suspect academic buildings were trying to suggest a character of the medieval universities.
holy cow, that's beautiful!
I love Pat, it's beautiful !!
The hinges are marvellous. That is so a door that I would have loved to go in and out of as a student!
A magnificent door, but the hinges steal the show!
How old is the college?

I see hinges like that on old church or other institutional doors, but I never get tired of them. Classics!
