One of the things that makes Queen St West special is the variety of old buildings that survive there, and also the variety of uses they have. The three Victorian beauties on the right are a good example of that with their wonderful mansard and the decorated dormers including metal work. These three were built in 1884 while their neighbours to the left were built in 1874 in Second Empire style. I have to admit that at one time I was such a regular at the Epicure Cafe that they started pouring my order as soon as I came in the door. I still love it there!

I like it very original Pat !!!
This looks like a warm and cozy street. The kind where you are always welcome. I love the name of the Thai restaurant. Very clever.
I like this one, great atmosphere!
Oh yes! When I come to visit :) we'll have to have coffee at Epicure Cafe. This whole street is pretty fab Pat.
It's been awhile, but I know this stretch of the street. It has a lot of character.
I'm glad they've maintained these old structures.
Love those beautiful old buildings.
it's fun to have a special cafe like that. Very beautiful old Victorian structures in this light especially, it's nice seeing the glow of evening settling in.
Love the atmosphere, the nite old buildings, and the light!
Beautiful old buildings, love those dormer windows!
Oh funny! I used to go often to that Thai one On. ;-)
These buildings have such character- so lovely! I'd like to eat at any of those eateries there.
It must be nice to be known and welcomed to a place like that.
Epicure is a perfect name then! Love the twilight atmosphere!
the street looks like at my place
The lit up signs have a cozy feel. Reminds me a bit of the television show Cheers. I could easily venture in there.
That does look like an inviting coffee house. If they roast their own coffee I might be a regular there also if it weren't so far away.
those are neat buildings.
The buildings look so much like ones in small Ontario towns.
says so much to me. Thanks

The Epicure is still going! I loved when I worked down in that area, and now I rarely go back.
I have to admit I thought I read re 1874 you said that "at that time I was such a regular..." and I thought, whoa! She can't be as old as I am!
Love the buildings and your luscious early evening photo!
Those Second Empire buildings are killer! Tom The Backroads Traveller
I love an old building, it's also my favourite time of the day to take pictures
I agree, you picked the perfect time to take this picture. These are wonderful old buildings and I love seeing them still in use.
