Rooftops

Last week I was taking a tour of a newly installed green roof on one of the buildings at U of Toronto and the view from up there was rather nice. Here we are seeing part of the campus in the forefront with Massey College and its modern bell tower on the left and the Soldiers Tower of Hart House to the right.  In the background are government buildings including the Queens Park legislature buildings and the tall towers at the back are part of the financial district along Bay St. The green playing field belongs to University College and it will be used for field hockey during the PanAm Games which take place here in July.

I've walked through this area on a number of occasions. Soldiers Tower has always held my interest.

Quite a pleasant cityscape; nice to see old and new rubbing shoulders.

I love the roof top view of cities, and this is a fine one. I can imagine wandering around here.

It is good to see wide views every now and then, to put the city into perspective.

Toronto's landscape is ever changing. I hope the powers that be take down the Gardener.

Your view is pleasing to the eye.

What fun that we've both done a (different!) skyline post! I'll show this view to my daughter to see if she recognises where it is. I'm all for green roofs. We're about to install solar panels on our house, which rules out the green roof, but I have a long-term plan for one.

Super roof top vistas Pat.. I'm just beginning to realise how popular hockey is in Canada :) Seems we will be hosting a Canadian hockey team here in Perth soon, next month I think. I might have to try and get tickets for it :)
