Shopping In Chinatown

This pic was taken several weeks ago on Spadina Ave which is where one of our Chinatowns is located - there are several around the city due to the large number of Chinese immigrants here. These Chinese grocery stores are always great places to find really fresh and unusual produce although you sometimes have to fight through some crowds!

You are so right about Toronto having more than one Chinatown. This one is the best.

Lucky you to live so close to a few Asian markets...although we do have a few in Newmarket too. And I've heard that quite a few new homes currently being built in Queensville are being purchased by Asians so maybe there'll be even more shopping opportunities in my area. ;)

Glad for the English translations. :-)

I find the Chinese markets here also have some great looking produce and things you won't always find in regular stores. I also like to look at the all packaged goods that are pretty interesting.

To echo VP but with a difference, lot of Chinese here and they are happpily chauffeured from the palace to... 'wok' restaurants.

I'd love to shop there for the unusual ingredients but for usual produce, I prefer ordinary markets!

Can't manage to read the Chinese signs, but the produce looks great. WIsh I could shop here.

And sometimes it's hard to know what the produce is!

Chain Town street markets definitely have no shortage of signs. They are wonderful places to shop.

I so wish Minneapolis had one like this! I really enjoy shopping and especially eating in any Chinatown I can find!
