Last week I showed you the stone wall that surrounds the grounds at Spadina House and this week I am showing the wall/fence that separates the front entrance of the mansion from the orchard and greenhouse. In summer it is hard to see through those openings since they hang flowers in them and ivy covers the whole wall so I present a winter shot instead.

That is a very solid, impressive looking Romanesque fence. Not sure it fits with the architectural style of the house however. Looks like someone started to build with stone and couldn't stop.
Lovely to peak through and see a bit of the garden Pat, I love the stonework but as TFG states it does seem a little at odds with the house. Bet it looks gorgeous in summer.
Now that is a very interesting wall indeed!
A great find and this view of the mansion with the green shutters makes me think of a French castle.
Great photo and wonderful strong fence!
Happy Week to you ~ ^_^
More a fortress wall than a fence!
Very sturdy for sure. Great shot!
they sure built things to last years ago.
Quite an impressive wall!

That is a very nice stone wall. I like the openings in it.
That archway is beckoning me in...
Now that's different!
I like this. I think it would look good in growing season.
wow, that's really something! sturdy and heavy!
Dang! Looks like an aqueduct.
That is such a cool fence!
I like it and yes, it does look sturdy. I would love to see what it looks like in the summer!
Fantastic stone work.
Some would even call that a wall, RedPat!
Love that stonework!
It's actually quite attractive in winter!
