Mother Goose

It will be hard to see her but half way up this tree in the crotch of the 2 branches there is a Canada Goose sitting on a nest of little ones. She is well hidden and her partner is standing guard near the tree! I've never seen one nesting in a tree before.

Nice observation and a photo, Pat!
I am also reminded of the movie with Cary Grant in it, with a similar title - Father Goose :)
It is quite a fun movie from the VHS days.
Have a Happy Day!!
Peace :)

Viewing the photo on a tablet, I will have to take your word for it. Old trees with hollows are so important to wildlife.

I've never seen anything like that before, either. I guess we just have to chalk it up to the superior brain power of Canadian geese! :)

Hiding, I'll say.

She's well hidden up there blending in with the color of the tree. She must feel safe there.

A good eye on your part, and great camouflage by the goose.

Well spotted. What a clever girl, probably quite a safe place and with hubby watching over her too.

Oh wow, what a cool spot for a nest. It does seem safe. Cute goose and duckies. Great photo! Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend!

Those ducklings will have a giant first step to leave the nest. Hope they will be alright.

Oh wow! I definitely would have missed that. She certainly found an unusual spot for her nest.
