St Clare's On St Clair Ave

This is St Clare's Roman Catholic Church located on St Clair Ave W. It was built in 1915 so just celebrated its 100th birthday last year. The lovely Renaissance Revival style building has heritage protection and I was actually able to get inside so will you a pic of the interior on Tuesday. There was no funeral going on - the hearse was at the funeral parlor across the road.
Taking part in Inspired Sunday. Click HERE to see more religious buildings from around the world.

Whew! I"m glad you explained about the hearse! I've been told God was dead and you really had me worried! :)

Another lovely example of church architecture of those years...not just Catholic but other sects, too.

Solidly symmetrical and pleasing because of that.

loooks simple but nice

Interesting building. The style makes me think of more Greek orthodox instead of Roman Catholic.

It is kind of an awkward building, isn't it, but somehow quite fine nevertheless.

Hope it is kept up for a long time to come.

Looks a modern church and I did think you came at the time a funeral was on

It has quite a powerful presence in the area, I'd imagine.
