A Safe Lamp?

I took this pic because I liked the lighting fixture and didn't notice until I put the pic up on the computer that there was a security camera mounted right above it. Somehow I don't think it is there to protect the light!

Pat you should stay away from the high crime neighbourhoods.

...did an electrician install it?

Probably not but, I do know of one fancy light fixture close to where I live that vandals keep breaking. It could use it's own security light.

Now why didn't they install a fancy matching security camera???!!!

The camera is rather discreet, so I can see how it would be overlooked.

Funny but I didn't notice the security camera until I read your commentary. They are everywhere. In this country the Congress after 911 basically gave tons of money to every Tom, Dick and Harry and every police department to buy military equipment and cities to buy Big Brother cameras...so you can pretty much assume that you're on camera 24/7 just about any place in the US. Ain't "freedom" great?

Could be a security camera, but couldn't it also be a light sensor?

I think it could be a light sensor, it would make sense because of its size. But it could be a camera too, I have never seen one that small mounted on a wall.

I didn't notice the camera either until I read your post. I like the light fixture too, especially the color!

Smile! You're on on security camera. It's good (since they seem to be necessary these days) when they're kind of inconspicuous. i like the light too.

You are probably right, and funny how small it is. I bet some folks might miss it.
