Laneway Steel

A grand old factory building by some railway tracks was recently torn down revealing this steel structure that had been added onto the back and above a row of one storey commercial buildings. It took me two tries to finally find a very narrow laneway which leads down to this place. I love how the rusted steel glows in the sunshine. Wouldn't you like to see the inside of this one?

We lived on a steel boat for 20 years. This is a striking post, P!

Interesting building. Especially the 2x6's (2x8's?) holding it up in the air.

Unusual, but I like it.

Love the colour and the house, very different and unique. In a way, it reminds me of a piece of furniture probably because of its legs.

It's fun when you have a challenge to get into that right position... even if you have to travel down a narrow laneway.

What an unusual building! Is it a house now?

I have a friend who lives near Lake Pontchartrain in New Orleans. Her post-Katrina house is set up quite like this. Dark red, too.

The color of that metal siding is quite surprising. Looks like a modern building from the 1960s.

Yes I am very curious. I also admire the way how the steel construction is held up by those very quirky columns.

I definitely would Pat! I wonder what kind of view they have out the feature window at the front!
