The July theme day for the City Daily Photo Blog community is "Spirit" and I had a bit of a hard time with this one until visiting this chapel in the Annex neighbourhood during the Doors Open event. St Alban's was a chapel built in 1885 and was to be a chapel as part of a large Anglican cathedral but for several reasons including WWI the cathedral was never built. The chapel however continues to be a special place where the sight of its wonderful double hammerbeam ceiling always makes my spirits soar. It is a truly beautiful space!

Happy Canada Day to all my fellow Canadians!!

A great choice for the theme! A very pretty chapel.
With such a lovely chapel, I can only imagine what the cathedral would have been like. Very appropriate for today's theme.
Lovely chapel! I imagine it is inspiring.
Pity that not every roof is made with the same craftsmanship.
Hello, beautiful chapel. Great choice for the theme. Enjoy your day and week ahead.
"Spirit" was a harder choice than I expected.
