They Are Back

This was my first sighting of turtles this spring. They were spotted in the pond in the Wychwood Park neighbourhood on one of their favourite logs catching a bit of sun. It is always a good sign to see turtles in the wild! I took the shot through some bushes so there are some fuzzy areas in the pic.

It's good to see them back. I bet the sun feels good to them.

There is just something about seeing the turtles out sunning themselves that makes me smile. It is nice to see the turtles in the wild.

They look sizable. We also have turtles in our ponds, but not quite this large. They are enjoying the warmth of the sun.

They know a good place when they see it. The welcome back sign must be up. :)

I would like to have turtles in the UK. But we don't. Are your turtles migratory? Or do they go quiet in the winter?

A fun image! It is always nice to spot the first animals/birds/marine life of the season.

They heard it was Memorial Day weekend. So they must be imports. :-)

I love them. We saved our first about a month ago. I put a raft on our frogpond and hope to see them sunning!
