Heading West

These are the tracks behind the building where yesterday's mural was found. It is hard to believe that this is in the middle of the city and that it is a very busy line.  Some of the trains that pass here take a good 5 minutes to go through carrying all kinds of goods.

Probably on tracks heading past places I knew growing up.

Train tracks are wonderfully graphic drawing us right to the horizon. Strong photo. Railroads are an efficient way to transport all kinds of good from place to place. About time we invested in them.

There are no railroad lines close to where I live now but when I lived on the west side of town, I could occasionally hear their whistles. This is a great shot looking down those straight tracks.

Some of the old towns still have the tracks they used decades ago but no longer use today. The tracks now are part of walking trails through the country's different regions and they are very popular.

But no electric lines. Come on, time to change that Canada.

There's not so much freight carried on our UK railways these days but plenty of passenger trains which, of course, have to go to the centre of towns and cities.
