A Surprise

I looked out through the patio doors and saw something bright sitting on one of the deck chairs. I grabbed my camera and headed out to find this beautiful Red Admiral butterfly enjoying a bit of a rest. I managed a few pics before I got too close and it then flew away.

Looks good against the blue chair. An artistically minded butterfly.

Perhaps this Red Admiral was attracted to the blue chair? Great shot.

How lucky you were for it to not only rest there, but in a beautiful pose. Mine hop about so quickly I can barely get them in frame. And then their wings are closed!
