I heard this hawk up in a locust tree before I saw it. It was well hidden and was looking very alert. Five minutes later it was sitting there eating a pigeon. I will spare you those pics. I think it is a Coopers Hawk but am not sure.

A formidable one.
Hello,
It looks ready to catch it's next meal, great capture of the Hawk!
Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a happy weekend.
Great shot of the hawk. They are good hunters so I'm not surprised this one found something to attack.
What a beauty! It's always neat when you can get a photo of one!
Awesome bird!!
Hello, :=) A beautiful raptor, and a very good photo. Thanks for sparing us the gruesome details of it's catch.
All the best.
It looks good and is probably well fed on pigeons that must be easy enough to catch.
What a great photo of this Cooper's hawk. I think the Sharp Shine Hawk is slightly smaller with a smaller head.
Wow a very good hawk shot. I like it.
the circle of life...awesome capture!!!
It is unforgettable when they strike their prey and feathers fly! Great capture. Pat
