Joining

I'm always fascinated by the methods architects find for joining additions to old historic buildings. This is a pic of the Royal Conservatory building taken from the pathway of Philosopher's Walk. I like the joining of the new with the old and the glass walls must give a grand view of all the trees along the Walk. I do wonder about birds flying into all that glass though.

That combination of old and new is really exciting!

I like to see how they join the new and old. I love it when they do something to save the old buildings.

That is a cool join but yes, the birds.

I find the modern glass building jarring next to the 19th Century structure. The joining of these two buildings just seems wrong. But what do I know about architecture?

It's quite a task, I guess.l

They need to put those little stickers on the windows so birds will avoid flying into them.

I love how the new and old blend together here. The glass must make for stunning views of the trees. I’d worry about the birds too.
