Fire Station 312

This is the Yorkville Fire Station which is one of the oldest in the city. The tower was built in 1876 but the other half dates from 1889. The whole structure has been updated and still functions as a very busy fire hall.

The facade on the right looks just like a face with 2 eyes,a lantern as nose and door as mouth, Still looks good with a great clock tower.

They just don't build fire stations like they used to. This fine looking building needs to be preserved. I'm happy to know it is still a fire station.

What a gorgeous building and so beautifully maintained. I like how it looks up against the modern skyscraper in the background.

What a magnificent old fire station. It's so cool how the different eras of its construction are still visible, yet it's fully functional today. Buildings with that much history and character are always so captivating, especially when they're still serving the community in such an important way.

I just shared a new post, I invite you to read and let me know what you think.

It’s impressive how the Yorkville Fire Station blends historic architecture with modern functionality—living history in action, still serving the community nearly 150 years on.

...it's gorgeous, I hope that the site doesn't become a high rise.

It is very fancy for a fire station. Our old fire stations have doorways too narrow for large modern fire trucks. I don't think any are still used as fire stations now.

I like that old building in front of the new one, a big contrast.

What a great fire station. In Connecticut, small ones like this are usually abandoned because the firefighting equipment of today is too big to fit in them. Glad that the city had the good sense up there to keep this handsome building.
