Jane's Walk

I just happened to come across all of these people assembling for one of the Jane's Walks that took place a couple of weeks ago. There were over 150 walks organized throughout the city in memory of Jane Jacobs the renowned urbanist.  This walk was in the west Annex neighbourhood which just happens to be where Jacobs lived after moving to Toronto from the US many years ago. The walks are organized to gather people together to walk and explore the city.

It's great to see so many people inspired by her works. If only city planners would do the same.

I remember the book and read it as part of my urban geography course. It was a long time ago.

This is a good idea to combat the loneliness so many folks experience these days.

That's a nice community gathering, and for a purpose.

It’s inspiring to hear how Jane’s legacy brings so many people together to explore and appreciate the city she loved—those walks truly celebrate community and urban life in the spirit of her vision.

That's wonderful! She really helped people understand what's wonderful about living in a proper urban community! At a time when they were only interested in tearing it all down and had no idea of what they would destroying This is delightful to see Aloha Pat
