Abstract Expressionist at AGO

My purpose for being at the AGO this week was to see this fabulous show from the collection of Abstract Expressionist masterpieces from the MoMA which had been in New York in the fall and was not meant to travel, but the MoMa director is the former AGO director so voila! The show has more than 100 works by the masters of the 1940s - 50s movement such as Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, Robert Motherwell, etc. Surprisingly they were allowing photos to be taken so I will show a few pieces over the next few days.
I love the graphics of the show's sign so I am taking part in Signs, Signs. For more signs click here.

Great graphics. And how can you be so lucky that they allowed you to take pictures! Wow! I hope more galleries and museumns will change to allow pictures.

Neat graphics and the colors are unusual, adding a nice twist. Cool they are allowing photographs, it bums me out when they don't allow that!

Love the hot colours in this sign. This might be a good place to beat the heat.

Wow I only wonder what is inside. For sure it has a lot of beautiful arts displayed.

This would be wonderful to see. I like many of the artists during that period, like Rothko and Gottlieb.

I was thrilled when SAM (SEATTLE ART MUSEUM) allowed cameras in their museum. It's a great way to share the art!

Love the linear qualities of this sign and the color combination is superb. I can understand why you would have chosen it this week. Super. Genie
