I love this painting by Jackson Pollock, titled "Number 7, 1950", from the Ab Ex show at the AGO. It was hard to choose from a whole room of Pollock paintings but the colours and everything else about this one were difficult to resist! The AGO normally doesn't allow photography of any work and it is only this show that is the exception to that rule - not sure why.

Normally we can't take pictures of painting in the museums here, but I'm glad to see the same works you've early seen this week. ;-)
This one is very appealing.
Can't say I'm a Pollock fan - that's one of his milder ones.
They do allow photography at the MomA. So maybe those rules apply?

It is great. Hartford's Wadsworth and Boston's MFA both permit photography anywhere, without a flash, unless specifically prohibited for special exhibitions.
I must say I do like Pollock a lot, it's my style too and you can be very creative with it! Thanks Red for this glimpse into the exhibition. Have a good weekend!

I enlarged the photo and I'm glad I did. I like the colours too.
Mostly I dislike this kind of art but I agree with you here. And I've done some photography which looks a bit like Jackson Pollock...I'll post some of that occasionally on our Images blog.
