This is the door into the main factory from yesterday's post - this would be where the postage stamp glue was made. This 4 storey building has been totally divided up into lofts too but I have to admit that I would prefer a bit more of an industrial vibe to this doorway - maybe it's the glass that seems wrong! The top of the building is covered in decks so the top floor would be the place to be.

great find red pat and i am enjoying this 'walk'. i agree with your thoughts on the door - the metal structure above the door does seem to suggest a more substantial door should be there or perhaps the door would work better without the metal structure? anyway, looking forward to seeing more pics from this walk. thanks
I agree with you about the glass, for my taste the contrast (red x white x black) is too strong, but I still like the style of the building, and I'm sure I'd love the top floor. ;-)
I like the red door, but that's because I love red doors. However, it does appear too small.
That said, I think the glass is there to give natural light to the lobby, which can't be a bad thing.
Either way, I'd live there if one of the top lofts were offered to me. Great ambience.

I agree, it's a very strange combination of styles.
I like this door, almost has a Japanese touch to it, with the red and black.
I like the door but the etched glass seems a bit out of place. I also like the overhang, The color of that door is fabulous.
It is a little odd, isn't it. Almost art nouveau curves in a brick building that is anything but!
The door should perhaps have glass panes in the top half to match the panes in the sidelights. Love the red and black, though.
The black just sets the red off perfectly.
I really like the whole thing, that is one dramatic entrance way, it's totally fantastic Red, you certainly couldn't miss this one.
There is something majestic about a red door.
I love the red door! Am also enjoying the railpath series. :)
Have you ever been to Riverdale Park? Is it worth seeing?
The doorway is very attractive!
This is fantastic! What a very cool entranceway! Love it.
