"Man And Woman"

Another abstract bronze sculpture from the 60s, "Man And Woman" by Canadian artist Louis Archambault was done in 1968 as one of the commissions for new Ontario government buildings called the MacDonald Block. Located in a breezeway off Grosvenor St, the angular male figure stands over 12 ft tall and the more rounded female is a bit shorter. I really like this piece!
I have shown you some of the other pieces from the MacDonald Block before - click the link below.

Nice angle, glad you mentioned the height it sounds impressive. I really like this sculpture too, the male seems to have his arm around his partner, and she looks as if she might be expecting!

Its name is also beautiful, it makes me think that despite all the differences, they are so perfect together. :)

Very interesting. I'd like to get into the mind of people who do these things to find out what synapses click to create them! :-)

They sit very comfortably together and also with the buildings all around. Great angle to show it off too.

Brilliant piece of symbolic sculpture Pat, I love the way Deb described how she interpreted it.

I like the simplicity of this sculpture. In a way they remind me of clothespin dolls...but I'm not sure why.
