Mural House Niagara St

This large mural is on the side of a house located just off Queen St West. The house backs onto a famous (infamous?) laneway that runs below Queen St where every single garage and building is covered in tags and graffiti and I assume this house was also a target and so the mural was commissioned. It seems to be the work of various artists since there are many names on it but I couldn't really find any info at all. The guy in the pink pants was a happy occurrence!
Taking part in Monday Murals. For more murals click here.

Sad comment on our times that a private home has to commission a mural to stop the taggers.

And the guy in the pink pants should try to find the lady in bright green on the bike - they'd make a lovely couple!!

Too much for one wall! But you take your chances in the art world.

It's cool to know many artists, probably with different backgrounds, worked together to produce this mural. ;-)

Thanks to your blog I'm finding out that Toronto has many more murals than I realized.. This one is spectacular.

It's too bad that someone tagged over the art. I like the bright colors though.

Nice shot, Pat. Taggers should be boiled and made into glue for tempera paints ;-)

Love the colors, and the woman on the right is really gorgeous. With all the different styles, you have to wonder whether they had a confab before starting or just took a part of the wall and started.

A nice funky mural and a guy in pink pants! What is happening in Toronto? Yikes!

And why is this lane infamous?

Ask and you shall receive words of wisdom...just so long as I can find a wise person! :-)

Very dynamic and full of energy. If only I could learn to read graffiti lettering. I'm guessing that designated art alleys are cropping up all over the place. Thanks, RedPat, for participating in this week's Monday Mural.

This one is an exceptional piece of art. This wall would look pretty bleak without any decoration on it. I have also tried to find some information on muralists who create these and find it very difficult. Maybe that is the point.

Excellent timing with the walking going by.

I simply love this mural! It feels like the 80's to me, especially the way they painted those ladies and the use of colors. Great, great find.

Lots of themes in this mural. More colorful than most murals.

Yes, unwelcome taggers should get a cruel and unusual punishment~

I think that several mural artists worked on it together. I like it!

Not too sure about the 'boiled and made into paint' seems a tad harsh haha! but they definitely are a pain in the neck. It's still a beautiful mural Red, well shown.

Pink Pants Guy looks like he has just stepped out from the mural!

Beautiful, love the colors!

Yep, there seem to be several artistic styles in the mural. I hope it keeps the graffiti artists away!
