At first glance not the most inviting name for a beer joint until you realize that Thirsty & Miserable is named after a song by the punk band Black Flag. This location in Kensington Market has housed many establishments over the years and is now the home to Thirsty & Miserable offering a huge collection of craft and micro- brewery ales as well as a nice assortment of beers from Belgium. I really like the sign but haven't been in yet although the reviews I have read make it sound very tempting!

Nice capture. Sounds interesting!
Sounds like a great name for a drinking establishment!
My SIGN.
it's a perfect name for a beer joint.:p i like the sign, too.
A different spin on a tempting sign! It awakens the curiosity! Unusual colour scheme too!
I think it's a great name for a craft brewery! Though I would nver in a million years have picked up on the punk band thing - way too far out of my terms of reference!
As a real ale fan this is definitely my kind of place, great sign.
Two beers and I would turn HAPPY!
Nice graphics.
I like Belgian beers but not punk bands... looks definitely worth a try - along with Andy's Honest Lawyer :)
Actually, that's a pretty catchy name!
My kind of place!
I like the name...and if you hadn't said, I never would have known where it came from. :))
Everything you post of this location is so cool!
Fun, love it! ;-)
I have one granddaughter that quotes songs (that I haven't heard) on her space. I find I need to ask if that is what she's doing. Really out of the loop on current songs. I'll have to google the song now because the sign stirs my imagination!
Also I'll look up punk band, punk?
Well, I guess this is a name we could remember.
I never would have made the connection between the name and the song! You'll have to let us know if you give it a try.
Great looking sign, very retro.
By the sound of it, you'll need a whole afternoon free...! Have a good weekend Red Pat...
I've always found that the opposite of this sign is more true: Miserable and thirsty.
Thus, I've also found that if I drink a few "fine ales" I feel less thirsty and less miserable. Unless, of course, I drink too many "fine ales," than it's back to "miserable and thirsty."
Right?
Photos like this tells story. A lot to research into and memorable.
I've never heard of this place before, but now I'm going to check it out. Love the name! :)
Haha! I like this Pat, miserable but not for long!!
love the name.
also that it is a purveyor since MMXII (and no-one else picked up on that?)
