Moore At Night

I have been in the Henry Moore Sculpture centre at the AGO (Art Gallery of Ontario) many times but never at night before and I was totally enthralled with the atmosphere. The roof of the centre is all glass so during the day there is wonderful light from above but the lighting at night is magical especially since I was the only one there when I first entered the space. This is just 2 from the extensive collection of the original plaster maquettes, from which the bronze casts were done, that are on display here.

I'm glad you were allowed to photograph them. I like the soft light.

Well i can make out that woman on the right, but what is that on the left? looks like pieces of ginger!
I bet that place was lovely to be in at night all the same.

I love Moore. We're lucky to have so much of his work here in Toronto. This gallery definitely has a different feeling in the evening!

Night or day, it looks like it's worth a visit.

I'd be glad to visit this gallery during the day and the night too! ;-)

Henry Moore is one of my favorite sculptors, I have never seen his plaster maquettes however, lucky, lucky you.

The light really is stupendous, and the reflection off the highly polished floor adds such an ethereal quality.

It's been years since I've been in the AGO.

I am surprised that you were able to take the shot.

How nice to have them all to yourself for a few moments. Visiting places like this after dark is always good fun.

Hi Pat,

I was just looking again at this post and wondering if we're gonna get more Moore at night?

It's definitely more difficult at night, but well worth the effort Pat, well done.
