Street Hockey

This float from the Santa Claus Parade shows the very popular Canadian sport, street hockey. All you need is a net, a ball and a couple of kids and you are ready to play. What makes this particular game different is the goalie the kids are playing against - it is supposed to be Jonathan Bernier of our beloved Toronto Maple Leafs!

When the pond wasn't frozen or too wet, we played with a real puck in our big garage... no rolling ball.

A very cool float. The fireplug makes it! Growing up for awhile in Minnesota we played hockey on ice. Can't remember playing street hockey, but they did that in Texas.

If you get a chance check out http://floridafotos.blogspot.com today. I tried to add a bit of interest to a photo.

I'm liking these floats you've been showing. They aren't over-the-top like the floats of our Rose Parade on New Years Day.

Very cute. Street hockey is popular among the young ones in my West Hartford neighborhood.
