They Are Running!

I first posted a pic of this fountain, titled "Salmon Run", back in August of 2011 (here) when it was bone dry as has been the case for much of the time since its installation in 1991. There have been many leakage problems with it but it is finally fixed and was ready to be a feature beside the PanAm Games Cauldron which I showed you on Sunday. It was designed by artist Susan Schelle and features 60 salmon swimming upstream as they do each spring in real life. Let's all hope they keep on running here for a long time now!

Yay! At least something was accomplished before the PanAm games. ;-)

That's been the problems with the real salmon runs out west, I understand--the river beds are drying up.

Wow, this is wonderful, and it brings back memories of a place not far from me when the carp come rushing in! It's a rather severe battle at times, but a remarkable sight to behold.

LOVE this one. And that no 'Bulls', if you get my drift.

Blimey, this one's marvellous. I love it and I hope salmon can continue to fray for a long, long time.

Hopefully all the issues are sorted out!

At a quick glance I was sure I was seeing the fish hopping along. Dry fountains are depressing, aren't they. Glad they got this one working again.

Sinceramente, llegué por casualidad, pero veo que tenemos varios amigos en común.
La foto me atrapó, con tiempo voy a leer textos anteriores, creo que hay muy buen material.
Un abrazo
