Store It or Eat It?

This black squirrel had found a great piece of food and seemed to be trying to decide whether to eat it now or store it for later. I wonder how many of their little stored treats ever get found again?

Cute pic. I like black squirrels. We don't have any here. Well, our fox squirrels have some black in them. And yes, I think they remember their stashes...unless, of course, they get run over or caught up by a hawk! :)

Decisions, decisions.....I know how it feels. However, I'm always an eat it now kind of person.

They always forget where they store them but can sniff them out later.

In Poland we have red squirrels

I'm glad to see a black squirrel. The Red squirrels have out competed them so their numbers are dwindling. Not sure squirrels always make the best decisions, but then I could say that about myself as well.

They find a lot of them, but enough still grow that it's a good strategy for the trees, too.

Nice pic!

Nice looking squirrel! He should store it; otherwise he's going to wear it!

So cute! I watched a squirrel hide something in my flower bed the other week. They're so much fun to watch.

I found a chestnut tree sapling growing in one of my planters, I suspect squirrels!

ha. They are funny creatures. Dear thing!

The squirrels sure have been busy in my neighbourhood lately. I think you are correct that they forget where they hide a lot of their treats.
