The Canada Geese in our parks are so fearless that they will walk right up to you looking for food handouts. They are big fierce birds so it is sometimes scary to say no to them!
Taking past in Saturday's Critters. Click HERE to see more creatures from around the world.

This handsome goose looks quite civilised!
He's a beauty Pat, but I know what you mean about scary, the black swans are the same here, I've seen them chase people for food :)

Interestingly enough, we have a bunch of these birds here in Ocala - especially in the winter. They are fearless, but usually don't bother you, especially if you're on a golf course carrying a big club! :) Nice shot!
They can be cranky when they want to be, but I've never had problems with them. This one looks quite distinctive.
They are wickedly bold, aren't they?!

Your goose story made me think of the time I was in London, sitting on a park bench in St. James Park waiting for my friend David to meet up with me and this giant pelican came strolling up to me and looked me right in the eye. I felt kind of pinned down, I wasn't quite sure what to do but, he finally moved on to a more promising pedestrian.
Hello, I have walked past some that seem down right mean and are scary. A friendly one would be Ok. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend!
I used to see these by the hundreds when I lived in Colorado...now living along the Texas Coast...they're not here. This was such a special treat!!
Being an avid birder myself, I'm visiting from the linking tool at Eileen's Saturday Critters. Thanks for sharing. If you'd like, you can add your link today at I'd Rather B Birdin'.
it's that 'canada nice' thing i've heard about... ;)
Saw one "bite" a young girl this afternoon as she fed it.
They can be quite scary can't they.
Like your photo though
All the best Jan
We have them. Some places have so many they prohibit feeding them.
That's pretty comfortable for him! Most of the parks around here have ducks that waddle right up to you but not geese.
They know how to get what they want....
Friendly and sweet, Honk! Honk!
I'm back today....Thank you kindly for sharing this at I'd Rather B Birdin' for us birders to appreciate!!
It's very pretty, Pat 😉
