West Wing

Yesterday I showed you the east wing of the Ontario Legislative Building at Queen's Park and today I show you what was once its twin. There was a major fire in 1909 and the west wing was destroyed and was rebuilt using Italian marble rather than the dark wood of the original. An extra floor was also added at the time. Quite a different effect isn't it?

Yes, it is very different yet I like both. This one has a lighter effect, even tho marble is used.

It is different in the lighter marble Pat, I like it very much but I prefer the gorgeous glass ceiling in yesterday's wing!

That really is a totally different look. I kept scrolling up and down comparing the two sides. What a difference.

Quite the difference from yesterday's photo. I like the marble and it is nice and light looking. Still the inside of the building is gorgeous. If the people could pick which side they like best, I wonder which side would win.

This side has so much more light and lightness of feeling. Maybe it has a salient effect on some of the legislators.

This is beautiful and looks much like it could have been shot from our own state capital in St. Paul, Mn.
