RatRod

I don't totally understand the whole Ratrod style of rusty vehicles but it seems to be really popular here now. I passed by this old panel truck a couple of times and then finally stopped to get a pic which is good because it seems to have disappeared now. I can't help but think how nice it would look all restored but this is a diehard fan who even has Ratrod decals in the windows!

Had to Google Ratrods Pat, can you believe it's big here in Perth also, who knew 😊😊 I'll have to keep my eyes open. What a strange hobby, I'm glad you went back and snapped this shot!

Hello, it is a great old vehicle. But would look a lot better restored! Happy Sunday, enjoy your new week!

It is an arrested state of decay. I've had old cars that I've restored, one in particular - a 1946 Chevrolet, to the point of looking as it did when it came off the showroom floor. I enjoyed it for about a year and agonized over it all the time keeping it looking nice, worrying about a rock flying up chipping the paint, where I parked it, someone bumping into it then finally sold it. Cars after that were left alone, as is and I only worked on and detailed out the mechanical components on them after that. I enjoyed these vehicles much more. This panel truck would be a joy to have. TexWisGirl has it right.

I've seen these too and I guess John (above) has the best explanation I've heard. This is a good one.

I've never heard of the term...and it's beyond me why one would want to drive a rusty old rattletrap down the street. Maybe it has to do with being too damn lazy to take care of one's car?

I used to drive an old rusty car. 'Nuff said, methinks. :-)

This is a classic. I haven't seen one in decades.

How do you even know the term "Ratrod," Redpat? You are much more attuned to current stuff than I am.

And thanks for your visits while I was away. I have to go away again for two days, so it will be Tuesday before I can resume my visits to Toronto and you. (The Jays beat my Sox today . . . blah!)
