Take A Seat

Proof that hummingbirds do sometimes sit for a couple of seconds and have something to eat! This little guy had fought off another hummingbird before settling down for a drink. I didn't notice the sparrow in the front right until I uploaded the pic to the computer.

i love when they decide to rest en masse and get 4 or 5 sitting around the feeder at once (rare!)

Humming birds are fascinating to watch. While they need the sugar for energy, they also must eat insects for protein to balance their diet. They are quite territorial with other humming birds.

It is a rare sight to see one not in flight.

You're right Pay, I don't think I've ever seen a hummingbird without its little wings going like the clappers 😊 nice one!
