Second Floor Detail

I've always been intrigued by this beautiful detail work that is found surrounding just one of the second floor windows on a nondescript building across from Casa Loma on Davenport Rd. All of the other windows are plain and it makes me think that some sort of modification has been done and that perhaps this had been above what had been an entrance into the building and which is now bricked up. Whatever the reason I love the Deco feel and the lovely carvings.

Seems rather ornate to be just decorative, I think your theory must be right.

Differences in brick and or mortar are good giveaways. I can see differences in both.

Gosh that is a bit odd that it's the only one Pat, intriguing! Of course it goes without say that I love the art deco touches 😊

Unusual and quite beautiful. That took some real artistry. I'd like those carvings around our front door. Could you please arrange for that to happen? :)

It makes me wonder if stone grapes will tumble off the faux columns.

Kind of personalizes a building, don't you think?
