Humberside Collegiate Institute

Just around the corner from yesterday's Little Library is Humberside Collegiate Institute and this is the main entrance to the school. I love the architecture of this old section of the school. The school was established in 1892 and is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year!

I agree re the architecture probably because so much of my education happened in such buildings. Nothing like them. What is a "collegiate institute"? That's not a term I'm familiar with...

It's a wonderful piece of architecture Pat, I particularly like the tall arched windows. Bet it's just as nice inside.

It's a beautiful building. I don't think I've ever been around it.

I am always struck by the symmetry of some of these older architectural gems.

Not to worry, Pat. Take care of yourself and hope everything is resolved soon in the best way possible.

This has the best kind of traditional look to it.

The red brick reminds me of the buildings I was educated in (several hundred years ago!)

Lovely building - red brick and green roof is a good combination.
