It is hard to read the sign in the window but this little cafe in the Kensington Market neighbourhood is called Fika which is Swedish meaning a nice coffee & cake break with friends. The day I passed by they had a sign out stating that they had Semla available. These are wonderful Swedish pastries full of cardamon and other spices and filled with whipped cream. It is the traditional food for Shrove Tuesday where here we have pancakes. I resisted going in for a semla.

Kensington Market sure does have colourful buildings.
Looks like a nice place. The dessert sounds yummy.
Oh my, how could you resist. They sound delicious.
Oh you ARE good Pat, I would never have been able to resist that combination of flavours, whipped cream too, oh yum!
Have you gone in to see their book wall?
...a semla is the reward for the climb up the stairs! Thanks Pat for joining in today.
Interesting place.
Hello,
Looks like a nice cafe. Wishing you a great day!
That's a wonderful shade of blue.
I like these signs.
Tempting. :)
It would have been difficult to pass up the pastry along with a cut of coffee.
I think I've seen Semla on Stefan Jansson's blog. They're very tempting.
You should not deprive yourself.
That sounds yummy, even to my bored sweet tooth! And like a nice place in general!
