Animals can eat in the strangest positions. Can you imagine trying to swallow food upside-down? I don't think that would work for us humans.
Where there is a will there is a way. :-)
Squirrels have an amazing ability to climb into bird feeders. Not only are they agile, but they are also smart. To answer your question, we had freezing rain and ice on Thursday evening. Today is sunny and above freezing so it is melting now. It does snow here in April, but it usually melts quickly.
The squirrels can be kind of cute but they sure scare our pretty birds away! Take care of yourself!
That birdhouse/feeder is so realistic it makes the squirrel look like Godzilla!
Though they hog the birds' food, they are cute :)

And, yes, it looks like I will be in Florida "for the duration." It is so bizarre. Beautiful weather, blue skies, a very pretty community in my own little cocoon, while outside the world is going to hell, both healthwise and economically. I hope you are safe up there.
Wow cool! Last month, I saw two squirrels outside our dorm. I was amazed because squirrels are not usual in the Philippines.

I like how you caught the coloring on the little guy even though he is being a gate crasher.
Maybe the squirrel thinks he owns this little house.
I have a wooden house-style feeder and a squirrel scratch off much of the paint. One just damaged my squirrel-proof feeder too.
Maybe uninvited but he doesn't give a damn.
