Through The Gate

This is a view through the gate in the stone wall that surrounds the grounds of Spadina House with a view of part of the house. The grounds were closed that day but I could see the tracks of someone who had been cross-country skiing around the perimeter on another day.

A bit rough gate I would say. The difference between the iron fence and the stone pillars is to great for me.

The pillars have a different design and are a bit tio high.

...beautiful, these were popular years ago. There are many here in Rochester.

The pillars are an example of a stone mason's craft that makes for an impressive gate. Well documented.

I recognize that view! It's neat how your blog sometimes takes me directly back to 1974-75.
