I was walking across a bridge over one of the creeks in the city when I noticed this woman further along the creek. I zoomed in with my camera to see what she was doing. I had thought that maybe she was catching something but it seemed that she was rinsing out piles of plastic shopping bags. I have no idea what that could be all about. It is a real mystery.

I guess we shall never know, but it's certainly better than the people who dump plastic waste in places like that.

Cleaning out in public water. Not something you see daily.
Just a guess but there are a number of groups in the Toronto area that weave plastic milk and shopping bags into sleeping mats for the homeless. They do ask that donated bags be cleaned. It doesn't make a lot of sense to use the river but maybe that was her only option? She'll have to dry them as well.
Not something you see every day that's for sure.
