Fighting The Wind

I watched this Swallowtail Butterfly for about  5 minutes as it fluttered from flower to flower while being blown around by the wind. It never kept its wings still as it grabbed onto Phlox blossoms and attempted to not be knocked off. I like how the antennae and head are so sharp in this shot while the wings are shaking.

Both thou and the swallowtail did your best. Good for you for nailing the focus, which was probably the best you =could do in the wind with your equipment. It would have been difficult for anyone regardless of equipment.

I see these here but they never stop long enough for a good photo. I love yours!

I've noticed the swallowtails flutter their wings like that quite a lot. They are difficult to photograph but you've done a fine job with this one.

The natural world is an amazing place. The Tiger Swallowtail is such a common and beautiful butterfly.

What a captivating moment you’ve captured! It’s amazing how the swallowtail butterfly’s sharp antennae and head contrast with the fluttering wings. The dynamic shot of it maneuvering through the wind and clinging to the Phlox blossoms really brings the scene to life.

Thanks for sharing this beautiful glimpse of nature!

A breeze does make life interesting for a large butterfly. Beautiful shot.
