Siblings

I have been having lots of Black Swallowtail Butterfly caterpillars on my dill plants but then they seem to disappear and I have seen no butterflies yet. Sometimes they can be there and an hour later they are gone. A mystery.

Taking part in Saturday's Critters. Click HERE to see more creatures from around the world.

Oh, RedPat, how cute are they? I never saw a caterpillar for real.

I hope you get to see some of them turn into butterflies.

They are beautiful caterpillars, I must say.

I suspect you may have well fed neighborhood birds. They avoid Monarch caterpillars, but I suspect Swallowtails are on the menu. You might try raising some of these caterpillars in a jar while watching them produce butterflies. It would also be better for your Dill plants.

Hello,
It is nice you have the dill plants that the caterpillars must love.

Lovely caterpillars, hope they form chrysalis and become butterflies.

Very distinctive. What a shame they disappear.

That is so interesting. Maybe they move on when they are full! HA! Hugs, Diane

I do hope you see a butterfly out of these! BTW, I did enjoy The Odyssey.
