The Hobbit

My plans for the holidays will hopefully include a viewing of The Hobbit which was my favourite of Tolkien's books. I caught this pic in late fall when they were publicizing the movie by setting up a little Middle Earth display at the Word On The Street event.

An excellent photograph! Very well-exposed and superb light and the subject is most interesting!

I am gonna go, too. Just bought the book for my Kindle so I can read it again before I go. Steven Cobert has a small part in it (it is his favorite book, too), and I cannot wait to see him. genie

I remember really enjoying this book much more than the Rings. but then, I was quite young when I read them. I've not seen any of the movies.

I so cant wait for this film is crazy. If you like the LOTR books and fantasy reading try a book called "The Dwarves" by Markus Heitz. Its simply awesome.
Have a great day.

Hi Pat,

I got your comment about comments/spam. I'm not sure I understand how you can do an Open ID.

1) In the comments section of Settings, you're given the options of Anyone, Registered User (Includes Open ID), User of Google Accounts, and Only members of this blog.

I've been using Anyone, as some of the people who comment are not Google account users, nor are they Registered Users, and I don't want to limit comments to only members of this blog.

Registered Users does include Open ID. But if you try to comment on a blog post under Open ID, you're given other options which are also unsatisfactory and omit many people.

Most of the spam that gets through are from "anonymous." And I have noted that Anonymous comments are not acceptable.

So, I can't figure out any way to stop the spam except for the word verification.

If you can explain how, I'd appreciate it very much! Thanks!

Funny how some movies are just captured by the general public and run up the flag pole.

That should be fun!

Let me know what you think. I am debating whether to go or wait til it's out on Netflix. :)

I think it opens here soon also, looking forward to it even though there's been a bit of a controversy about it.
