Community Art

I took this pic earlier this fall when the weather was still warm and I just happened to pass by the activity as a community group began painting a mural in a railway underpass. The work continued for several weeks with an artist fine-tuning the painting that had been done by the volunteers. The theme of the piece is hockey and it still seems to be a work in progress so I will wait a while before getting a pic of the finished piece!

There is a neighborhood in Phoenix where this has community activity has been going on for the past year. It's fun to see all the people out there working together.

An underpass can be such a great place to do this. It livens up what is otherwise dead space.

So good to see the community working together Pat and as William said, an underpass is the ideal spot for a bit of livening up!

I love seeing the work of community mural projects. They often add something special to the neighborhood. This one looks good so far.

I can only imagine the amount of work involved in a mural.

Glad you mentioned "fall" as they seem to be under-dressed for this time of the year.

I'm excited to see it. A piece on hockey, who would have thought that would be popular! ;)

That's so cool. Especially since underpasses are usually so gloomy!
