I spotted this sign on Bay St which is one of our busiest downtown streets. It was positioned in one of several very long garden areas that have had mature trees and shrubs installed right along the roadway. What makes these areas different is that deep tree trenches have been dug and special drains placed to run storm water down to the tree roots. Most of the trees planted along the sidewalks don't fare very well because of a lack of root space and not enough water so these ones should flourish.

Oh how I loooooove this idea.. anything that works to keep the trees thriving gets the thumbs up from me Pat :)
"We are each other's air". I love it!
Great sign with its poem. We should all be "tree huggers". Out here on the prairie towns can be spotted because that is where the trees are.
I agree with Lois, that is great.
nice planning - and planting. :)
Great idea, lets hope they flourish!
It's refreshing to know that some people in Toronto understand the importance of trees. ;)
I like that sign. We should take care of trees and green areas.
I certainly hope they fare well. We need more stuff like this!
it is very important message . We must protect our trees..
Love the idea that we are each other's breath. Delightful sign promoting awareness.

A sign with a message!
You have some smart planners up there in Toronto. The sign was missing one thought: Trees add to the beauty in our world.
Great sign and idea.
If only more cities would read this! Although Berlin is quite green. :)
Very good idea, and will return to bloom ;))
