I took this pic a couple of weeks ago at Spadina House before the Japanese Maple had dropped all its red leaves. It is quite a contrast to a shot of this gate I had shown from the other side during warmer times (click HERE) but I still love it.

That is one beautiful, sturdy gate. And you did a great job composing this - the red leaves really pop!
So different Pat although I suspect this old gate will look pretty darn fab in all seasons!
You chose a great time to take this photo with the red leaves in the distance.
A beautiful entrance to that gorgeous red tree !
What a difference a few months can make. I love that bright red.
Nice shot! We lived 3 doors down from Spadina house on Castleview for a year - 40 years ago!

Ya, I kick myself all the time when nature changes and I miss important photos.
I love the round stone pillars attached to the gate and dthe red Maple is lovely
We didn't see many deep reds this fall.
That is SO pretty Pat!
Quite a neat gate!
Now I don't know what I like more - the tree or that real sturdy gate :)

That's a bit like a children's book cover!
It is a beautiful gate and I love the Autumn colors.. Great photo, enjoy your weekend ahead!
lovely gate to autumn
Beautiful capture and composition!
Quite a difference in the two shots, but since fall is my favorite season, I like this one the best!
That is a beautiful shot!
Nicely framed.
That is one great gate, pretty pic.
You were lucky to get the tree right in its prime. What a beauty!
A curious entrance, I have never seen pillars like these...
A very sturdy door.
So pretty, RedPat. I have a nice Japanese maple on the side lawn of my West Hartford house. Japanese maples and dogwoods are probably my two favorite small Northern trees.
Fabulous stone entryway and the red maple really sets it off.
