Another Conversion

This century old building had been a Baptist church until the 1970s and then had other uses until finally being purchased by a developer who seems to have done a nice job of dividing it into 5 lofts each of which is quite large. It is located just off Yonge St in the toney Rosedale neighbourhood so the lofts sell for a lot of money when they become available.

I'm glad these buildings get new uses.

Well, I'm glad to see that it was put to something useful. I, too, would like to see one of the lofts. It's certainly an impressive building and probably impervious to inclement weather.

Lofts in a former church, this is quite strange...

There have been conversions in religion all throughout history.

That's another lovely one!

I find it sad that a beautiful church ends up as apartments. But at least they didn't pull it down and I suppose the developer has done it 'sympathetically'.

This happens a lot in London, that's a fine building, they must be very large lofts..

Actually, I once lived in the bell tower of a church still in operation!

I bet the lofts are pretty fabulous Pat, would love to live in a really old building, as long as there were no remaining original residents :)
