The new Humber River Hospital is very visible from the 401 highway which is the major highway running through the north part of Toronto. Probably the most striking feature of the hospital is this glass mural titled "Aspen Grove". It is meant to represent the connection between the community and the hospital and I think was designed by the architects of the building, HDR Architects.

I like it a lot Pat, it takes away from the overly clinical look hospitals can have sometimes have.
Love it! Such a beautiful light as well.
That is impressive. When I drive on that portion of the 401 my eyes are usually glued to the road. Next time I'll take a quick glance around me.
I love it! I remember this hospital being under construction. Nice to see it finished.
Now that is a great mural.
I wonder if those architects are related to HDR Engineering. They have offices across the street from where I live.
I love the mural, it's very colorful.
Very effective public art!
This I really like!
That is quite a mural!
Now this is a mural to love! It is fantastic. Such a creative idea.
this is wonderful
interesting idea
Certainly breaks up what otherwise might have been a rather "clinical" looking building. I mean it's a hospital, okay. But it doesn't HAVE to look like a hospital. Kudos to whoever thought thought this up :-)
It is a fantastic building!
Very cool.
That's really striking!
It is beautiful!
Your photo gives a good view of the full expanse of the mural. It is so colourful and certainly softens the exterior look of the hospital.
I would like to see some architecture like that around here in Coventry. Looks bright and cheery.
A facade fun. Idea very colorful :))
For a building that is pretty ordinary, the mural adds some nice "pop," don't you think?
Adding a broad expansive scene like this makes for a welcoming gesture. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
Colourful ! I like it.
Quite a place!
