Station 311

The little spotted lions from yesterday can be found by the bench outside this fire station near Yonge & St Clair Ave. The station was built in 1911 and was originally Toronto Fire Station 24 - you can see the old sign near the top of the building. It was designated a National Historic Site in 1990 and is still being used.

311 is a beaut. Oh my. I was wrong with yesterday's comment. It really was the lions and dalmatians there were carrying on with the hanky panky.

Classic firehouse. Bet they have a brass pole to slide down.

Yup! Guarding a fire station is a worthy position for these spotty Leo's , especially a heritage listed beauty like this.. good to know it's still a working fire station Pat.

There are so few of the historic fire stations left in north America. This one is great. So, no dalmatians just spotted lions.

Great looking building but I am totally drawn to that beautiful blue sky...something I haven't seen here in Coventry today :).

I must say that the fire station looks a bit like dutch architecture.

A wonderful building! Well maintained as it's over a 100 years old.

Your post reminded me of a local fire station controversy in my area, namely replacing a school with the station.

That stepped roof is kind of Dutch, don't you think? I wonder if there is a connection.
